Keith MacPhail has been a board member of Compass since 2020 and an advisor and shareholder since 2014. He also serves on the Board of Directors of NuVista Energy Ltd., a publicly traded oil and gas company commencing in 2003.
With over 40 years of experience in the energy industry, Keith has held many notable positions, including recently serving as a member of the Cenovus Energy Board of Directors from 2018 to 2023, which included three years as Chair. He was also Chairman of NuVista from 2003 to 2016 and CEO and Chairman of Bonavista Energy Corporation for several years. Keith also held numerous progressive roles with Canadian Natural Resources Limited, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and served on the Board of Directors of Canadian Natural for 22 years from 1993 to 2015.
In 2019, Keith was recognized for his achievements and appointed a Member of the Order of Canada. He holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
