Phil Ness is a co-owner and Board Member.
Phil joined Compass in 2004 and served as the Vice President of Operations for 16 years until he retired in 2020.
Continuous innovation is at the core of everything Phil does. At Compass, he continually refined and enhanced operational processes and systems. His innovative spirit helped establish the company as a leader in its sector and contributed to the company’s win of Canada’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2011.
Over his 30+ year career, Phil dedicated himself to the gas compression industry and developed a track record for helping companies establish and grow their businesses. As technical sales for Eagle Pump and Compression, Phil helped develop and build in-house pump applications that were widely adopted by the industry. During his time at Energy Industries, Phil also played a key role in helping them market reciprocating compressors and was instrumental in bringing their first rotary screw to market.
As a member of the board, Phil’s genuine interest in the industry, his hands-on approach, and his can-do attitude continue to impact the company as it builds some of the industry’s most complex and innovative energy systems and maintains a loyal and diverse client base.
