The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing sizing/design, engineering, estimating, and technical support for gas processing and compression equipment (new units and retrofits). Working in conjunction with our Account Managers, the candidate will be the internal technical lead for the sales process, detailing customer needs and engineering scope.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Compressor performance and component sizing of gas compression equipment
- Scope definition, specification review, cost estimation, and preparation of detailed technical proposals
- Participation in clarification and kickoff meetings
- Confirmation of significant equipment and critical path components, and reliability of suppliers to meet customer specifications and required delivery schedule
- Maintain customer and vendor relationships
- Understanding of industry codes and market standards
- Interface with all operational departments including engineering, procurement and production during the bidding phase, project execution, transfer of scope, and approval drawing assistance
- Assisting service branches and technical support groups with modeling and optimization of existing field equipment
- Development of equipment and module design and pricing for use as the standard product
Education, Skills and Experience
Your education and experience include:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 0-3 years of experience in gas processing/compression and fabrication/packaging is considered a vital asset
- Must be self-motivated and team-oriented
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
Physical Strain
Standard requirements:
- Bending, squatting, climbing, twisting and reaching may all be required occasionally in this position
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Lifting 10 pounds maximum with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
- Must meet all OSHA regulations and must wear all required PPE when in the shop or field environment.
