Compass is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator – Maternity Leave Coverage to provide general HR support to the production facilities and the overall workforce in support of the HR program. The HR Coordinator maintains an effective level of business literacy about the organizational strategy, culture, and competition. 

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Recruitment administration including maintaining job descriptions, internal and external postings, pre-screening candidates, interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Preparation of HR correspondence including contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Manage the new hire onboarding orientation, new hire paperwork and benefits program.
  • Support employee benefit and retirement programs (education, communication, and renewal)
  • Maintain accurate HR employee files and the electronic files in the HR Drive
  • Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Responsible for distributing HR communications, EAP emails and ongoing updates.
  • Coordinate training schedule and manage Alberta Job Grant Program
  • Administer salary surveys, Statistics Canada data and internal engagement surveys.
  • Develop and maintain regular HR reporting as determined by the HR Director such as headcount reports, turnover reports, and trends
  • Respond to general employee enquiries and escalate when appropriate  
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations as required.
  • Assist HR team with the application and administration of policies and programs as required.
  • Assist the Sales and Marketing Coordinator with administrative tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned providing general HR support to the production facilities and the overall workforce in support of the HR department. 

What You Bring

Your education and experience include

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business or a related field with 3 -5 years of administration or coordination experience in a Human Resources role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with both professionals and skilled trades, as well as past experience in manufacturing
  • Independent working style with above-average verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce HR system
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
