Compass is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to provide general HR support to the production facilities and the overall workforce in support of the HR department. The HR Coordinator maintains an effective level of business literacy about the organizational strategy, culture, and competition.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Recruitment administration including maintaining job descriptions, internal and external postings, pre-screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Preparation of HR correspondence including contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
- Manage the new hire onboarding orientation, new hire paperwork, pre-employment assessments through DISA.
- Maintain accurate HR employee files and electronic files
- Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Responsible for distributing HR communications and ongoing updates.
- Assist HR team with the application and administration of policies and programs as required
- Respond to general employee inquiries and escalate when appropriate
- Develop and maintain regular HR reporting such as headcount reports, turnover reports, and trends
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned providing general HR support to the production facilities and the overall workforce in support of the HR department.
Education, Skills and Experience
Your education and experience include:
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business or a related field with 3 -5 years of administration or coordination experience in a Human Resources role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with both professionals and skilled trades, as well as past experience in manufacturing
- Independent working style with above-average verbal and written communication skills
- High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce HR and Payroll system a plus
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
Physical Strain
- Standard requirements. Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting and reaching will all be required occasionally in this position
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Lifting 10 pounds maximum with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
