Reporting to the Shipping/Receiving Foreman, this position is responsible for shipping and receiving all parts and materials, signing for deliveries, packaging and securing parts and units for shipment, maintaining clean and organized inventory for production, and accurate data entry. Additional responsibilities include the orderly storage and movement of materials from the point they are received, stored, and delivered to the production floor.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Receive parts ensuring that all parts are accounted for and proper paperwork is completed and forwarded as per company procedures:
- Match vendor’s and client’s packing slips to parts received.
- Enter the received parts against documentation in NAV business management software system.
- Allocate incoming parts to appropriate location as identified by NAV.
- Tag and label parts with proper job #’s and information required.
- Stock shelves and organize job carts.
- Track and coordinate all parts and raw materials for jobs as listed on the BOM’s.
- Shipping:
- Maintain records of Shipping Reports
- Prepare units for Shipping including documentation.
- Adequately package and prepare the ship loose items for each unit including accurate documentation.
- Adequately package and prepare parts for shipment to internal and external clients and vendors including accurate documentation.
- Working with the shop foreman and lead hands, coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between the yard and the production floor:
- Maintain materials in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Assist shipping/receiving with heavy parts deliveries and yard materials, ensuring that all paperwork is completed properly.
- Go to person for production materials, locate and deliver required materials from yard to work areas as needed.
- Load and organize pipe racks, structural iron, etc. (work with lead hands to delegate when required)
- Other:
- Measuring of saw and flame cut parts with proficiency using a standard tape measure
- Move parts between machines and storage areas in the shop using manual or automated means.
- Assist with general labour duties as requested by the supervisor.
- Assist in the traceability of materials used on sales orders
- Wear PPE at all times and observe Health and Safety policies
- Participate in the Health & Safety, Quality Control, and all other Company policies and programs.
- Maintain a safe clean shop floor areas as required
- Drive the company truck to pick up or drop off items as required in the absence of the Driver.
Education, Skills and Experience
Your education and experience include:
- Registered and Indentured Apprentice Parts Technician
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Forklift Training and experience
- Able to read, write, and understand English
- Able to process paperwork as required
- Basic computers skills, Microsoft Office and NAV
- Familiar with Safety programs and requirements
