What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with the Project Managers, Engineers, shop and Field Services Team to ensure a clean handoff from the manufacturing phase to the installation, start-up and commissioning phase.
  • Facilitate the co-ordination of ship loose/short/direct items along with spare parts required by the field services team and or Customer.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to Customers and Field technicians as required and/or determined by the contract.
  • Support Customers as necessary with OEM warranty claims and/ or product support for legacy equipment.
  • Work with Project Managers to determine warranty validity and scope and support Field Service Team with quoting any parts and/or service needs for anything that falls outside the terms of the contract.
  • Co-ordinate with the Procurement and Spares teams to facilitate the replacement and/or return of parts to factory and/vendor and ensure the appropriate corrective actions take place in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure that any vendor bill-backs are processed, and any credits are properly transacted/applied.
  • Manage costs on concessions/ good-will and approve/review based on risk/exposure.
  • Collaborate with Field Service Team to ensure that clear and concise field reports are available and effectively communicated with the customer for any/all reported issues.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Quality Manager to ensure that all reported defects are accurately recorded in the NCR system and properly evaluated and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Review NCRs and make recommendations to the Engineering/Fulfillment teams for product and or process improvements based on frequency and/or impacts of issues detected in the field.
  • Manage the Warranty GL account to ensure that charges are properly identified and booked correctly.  Ensure that the total open warranty risk is not in excess of the total accrual and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Develop and continually improve business processes that define the tasks outlined in this job description.  Ensure they are published in the Compass Quality System and reviewed as necessary.

Education, Skills and Experience

Your education and experience include:

  • 5+ years engineering reciprocating and/or screw natural gas compression packages
  • 5+ years in a position dealing directly with customers
  • Experience with Field Service and Warranty claims and resolution.  Hands on field experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of instrumentation, valves and compressor control systems
  • Proficient with Ariel run files
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude
  • Hands on collaborative approach with design and fabrication
  • Results oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and thoroughness
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and planning skills

Physical Strain

  • Standard requirements. Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting and reaching will all be required occasionally in this position
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Lifting 10 pounds maximum with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • May be required to work at heights of up to 25 feet
  • Must meet all OSHA regulations and must wear all required PPE when in the shop or field environment.
